Etimologia

Il nome del genere deriva dal mwegnorreno mwewFúlmár che significa "gavina marcia" o "gabbiano marcio" a causa dell'abitudine di rigurgitare una sostanza oleosa dall'odore disgustoso. cite-ref-2[2]

Tassonomia

Il genere mwhaFulmarus comprende due mwhqspecie:cite-ref-ioc-1-1[1]

• mwjamwjqFulmarus glacialis (mwjgLinnaeus, 1761) – fulmaro boreale
• mwkamwkqFulmarus glacialoides (mwkgA.Smith, 1840) – fulmaro australe
